VMware SRMvSphere

No VRM Server registered with vCenter Server for site (SRM 6.1)

When creating a protection group within SRM 6.1 for vSphere Replication 6.1  you get the following error:

Srm-error-when-creating-protection-group

Resolution: Ensure you have at least 1 VM configured for vSphere Replication then make sure to check the date & times across all (Live and remote/DR) vSphere infrastructure components including:

  • All vCenter servers / appliances
  • All SRM servers (if different)
  • All vSphere Replication Appliances

There should be no mismatch between time on any of the components.

You may find the underlying cause of the time mismatches to be that your Live and Remote DR ESXi hosts do not use the same NTP servers.
