How to download and install VMware Workstation Pro for free

Last year, VMware / Broadcom made VMware Workstation Pro free for all, including commercial and personal use. However, it’s always been a bit difficult to find the download links to install it.

First, you don’t need any VMware or Broadcom subscriptions or licenses; however, you do require a Broadcom account. If you don’t have one, you can register here at no cost.

Where to download VMware Workstation Pro?

• Log in to your Broadcom account and use this link to locate all free VMware software: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/free-downloads
• For VMware Workstation Pro, the direct link is here: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=VMware%20Workstation%20Pro&freeDownloads=true
• Select Windows or Linux, then the version you want to download.
• Important: On the download page, you must open the terms and conditions before you can agree to them.

• Once opened, click the checkbox next to the terms. This will unlock the download button on the right side of the software you want to download.
• After the download completes, installation is simple; just run the installer.
